Position Summary: The Robotics Training Specialist is responsible for delivering high quality technical training to enhance UxS deployment skills. They deliver instruction to ensure operators safely and proficiently fly, employ, and support unmanned systems. This role requires prior experience in a training environment and the ability to deliver technical content to large groups. The Robotics Training Specialist demonstrates a strong understanding of adult learning principles and growing project management demands, along with expert-level flight proficiency. This role works with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Advanced Concepts and various teams within Research & Development.

FLSA: Exempt

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Deliver technical training programs for Operations personnel, ensuring proficiency in drone assembly, programming, tuning, and advanced flight. Track and record attendance for all trainings. Assess skill and knowledge transfer and report to results to stakeholders as needed.
• Assist in the development of hands-on training exercises, work instructions, and assessments to reinforce key concepts. Collaborate closely with Technical Writers in the development of training content to ensure materials align with operational needs and best practices.
• Work with Production teams to ensure training aligns with operational needs and safety standards. Work closely with Technical Writers under the direction of the Training Manager, Robotics to ensure all training meets learning objectives and aligns with project timelines and business priorities.
• Provide coaching and mentorship to trainees and frontline employees to reinforce learning and support skill development.
• Provide world class instruction to clients.
• Maintain training records and assist with UxS updates to track participation and compliance.
• Progressively learn features and capabilities of UxS in order to be able to speak to its capabilities and functionality to stakeholders and SMEs.
• Regularly review own material for accuracy and seek feedback from SMEs for improvements and updates. Work with Technical Writers to coordinate and implement updates to existing training materials.
• Ensure training content adheres to all compliance, safety, quality, and regulatory
training requirements, including OSHA, ITAR, and ISO standards.
• Manage a limited number of small to medium-sized training projects with some oversight by Sr. Robotics Training Specialists, ensuring alignment with business objectives and deadlines. Take on progressively more ownership of tasks and responsibilities as skills mature.
• Help to identify training needs and client capabilities.
• Work with SMEs to identify business KPIs to help formulate instructional objectives and assessment questions in order to measure success of training program initiatives.
• Work with functional SMEs to identify risks and issues as part of the training scoping process and formulate recommendations to present to stakeholders for approval.
• Integrate content of communication, training, and change activities to ensure focus on any necessary behavioral change as needed.
• Travel as needed.
• Support the implementation of training effectiveness metrics and work with leadership to track improvements against KPIs. Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to enhance training delivery and effectiveness.
• Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
• Participate in and sustain 5S Standards.
• Must follow all required Safety and ISO procedures.

Education/Experience & Skills:
• High School diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor s degree in Robotics, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics or other related Engineering or related field preferred. 2-5 years of previous robotics, automation, or technical training experience. Deep knowledge and experience with autonomous and free fly UxS systems and software.
• Comfortable navigating UxS platforms and tracking training completion is expected. Ability to instruct on all facets of UxS operations.
• Prior experience delivering technical training in UxS operational environments.
• Strong knowledge of flight controls, autopilot software and advanced drone assembly required.
• Working knowledge of eLearning software products and highly proficient with all Microsoft Office related products.
• Demonstrated aptitude for classroom management and facilitation, with the ability to engage learners and adapt training methods as needed. Ability to develop and deliver hands-on and classroom-based training.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Internal operational certifications commensurate with level and years of experience required.
• LSS Green Belt preferred, not required.
• Ability to speak persuasively and write clearly on topics of greater complexity.
• Collaborate effectively and take all necessary actions to ensure the success of each training initiative.
• Complete tasks as assigned in a timely manner. Requires some supervision.

Working Conditions:
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer using a keyboard and mouse performing repetitive tasks.
• Ability to open file cabinets, reach with hands and arms, bend, and twist, lift and move files.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where required.
• Must comply with all work exposure EH&S training requirements and adhere to SIG SAUER Inc. Security Mandates.
