Job description

An innovative defense technology organization is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex software development programs supporting government customers. This role partners with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure contractual milestones, schedules, and deliverables are executed on time and within scope.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage integrated project schedules aligned with contractual deliverables, program milestones, and customer requirements while tracking progress and mitigating risks.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including software engineering, systems integration, quality assurance, documentation, and testing to ensure successful program execution.
  • Manage Agile project workflows using Jira (or similar tools), maintaining epics, task structures, and accurate program status across stakeholders.
  • Lead program status reviews, prepare executive-level updates, and communicate project risks, schedule changes, and mitigation plans to internal leadership and government customers.
  • Monitor contract deliverables and ensure compliance with government program requirements, quality standards, and documentation timelines.


Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project management experience supporting defense, aerospace, or government programs.
  • Experience with government contracting processes and terminology, including CDRLs, DIDs, CtF, ATO, STIG, or similar compliance frameworks.
  • Proven success managing cross-functional engineering teams in Agile development environments.
  • Strong proficiency with Jira and/or comparable Agile project management tools.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to present technical program status to diverse audiences.
  • Active Secret Security Clearance, eligibility for a Secret Clearance, or the ability to obtain one.
