Fractional CFO
Recruitment Partners is seeking a Fractional CFO to provide strategic financial leadership while mentoring and developing a Controller into a confident, business‑focused finance leader. This role combines executive‑level financial oversight with hands‑on coaching, leadership development, and succession planning to strengthen the overall finance function.
This role is responsible for overseeing financial operations through the Controller, providing strategic guidance to leadership, strengthening financial planning and analysis capabilities, and developing the Controller's leadership, communication, and business partnering skills. The Fractional CFO acts as a mentor, advisor, and accountability partner while supporting long‑term organizational growth and scalability.
The ideal candidate will bring extensive senior finance leadership experience, strong coaching and mentorship capabilities, and the ability to balance strategic thinking with practical execution. They will be comfortable developing future finance leaders while contributing to executive decision‑making, financial planning, and business performance improvement.
Your success will be defined by your ability to:
  • Provide strategic oversight of the finance function through partnership with the Controller and accounting team
  • Mentor and develop the Controller into a confident business partner and finance leader
  • Strengthen the Controller's ability to interpret financial results and provide actionable business recommendations
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, banking relationships, payroll oversight, and financial reporting processes
  • Guide the Controller through progressively increasing levels of ownership and accountability across key finance functions
  • Develop strategic thinking capabilities related to profitability, growth, working capital, risk management, and operational performance
  • Enhance financial planning and analysis capabilities, including forecasting, variance analysis, KPI development, and scenario modeling
  • Coach and support people leadership skills, including performance management, delegation, team development, and talent acquisition
  • Improve executive communication skills through coaching on presentations, reporting, business writing, and stakeholder engagement
  • Facilitate structured coaching sessions, development reviews, and leadership assessments to support measurable growth objectives
  • Build a scalable finance function that supports succession planning and long‑term organizational growth
Your strengths include:
  • CPA designation and extensive senior finance leadership experience
  • Previous experience as a CFO, VP Finance, Director of Finance, or senior finance executive
  • Proven track record mentoring and developing finance leaders and high‑performing teams
  • Strong expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and strategic planning
  • Deep understanding of FP&A, business performance metrics, and operational finance
  • Exceptional coaching, communication, and leadership development skills
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to connect financial results to business strategy
  • Experience supporting executive teams and influencing strategic decision‑making
  • Ability to balance hands‑on guidance with high‑level strategic oversight
  • Strong relationship‑building skills and the ability to influence across all levels of an organization
