What are fractals?

Fractals are complex geometric shapes that exhibit self-similarity at different scales, meaning their patterns repeat no matter how much you zoom in or out. They are found in mathematics, nature, and art, and are often used to model structures such as coastlines, snowflakes, and clouds. Fractals are generated by repeating a simple process over and over in an ongoing feedback loop, leading to intricate and infinitely detailed patterns. They are widely used in computer graphics, natural sciences, and even financial modeling.

As a company, Fractal is known to offer competitive salaries that align with industry standards for data science, analytics, and consulting roles. Compensation often depends on experience, skills, and location, with additional benefits such as bonuses and professional development opportunities. Candidates with expertise in analytics tools and client-facing skills tend to have higher earning potential.

What are some common challenges faced by fractal analysts when interpreting complex data patterns?

Fractal analysts often encounter challenges when working with intricate or noisy data sets, as distinguishing meaningful fractal patterns from random variations can be difficult. Additionally, collaborating with cross-functional teams to explain highly technical fractal concepts in an accessible way can require strong communication skills. Analysts must also keep up with evolving software tools and methodologies to ensure accurate analysis and reporting, making continuous learning an important part of the role.

What are examples of Fractal careers?

Fractal careers typically include roles such as data scientist, software engineer, business analyst, and machine learning engineer, often requiring skills in programming, data analysis, and statistical modeling. These positions are common in technology and analytics companies, with work environments emphasizing problem-solving and technical expertise.

What exactly does a "fractal company" do?

A fractal company typically refers to an organization that operates with a self-similar structure across different levels, often emphasizing decentralized decision-making and scalable processes. In a job context, roles may involve working with complex systems, data analysis, or technology that reflects fractal patterns, requiring skills in systems thinking and problem-solving.

What is the difference between Fractal vs Data Analyst?

AspectFractalData Analyst

Work EnvironmentData science teams, analytics departments, consulting firmsBusiness, finance, marketing, or healthcare departments
Employer & Industry UsageConsulting firms, tech companies, financial institutionsCorporations, government agencies, research organizations

While both roles involve working with data, Fractal typically refers to a data science or analytics firm specializing in advanced modeling and AI solutions, whereas a Data Analyst focuses on interpreting data to support business decisions. Fractal professionals often have more technical expertise in machine learning and data engineering, while Data Analysts concentrate on data visualization and reporting.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Fractal Analyst, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Fractal Analyst, you need a solid background in mathematics, data analysis, and pattern recognition, typically supported by a degree in mathematics, physics, or a related field. Experience with analytical software such as MATLAB, Python (with libraries like NumPy and SciPy), or specialized fractal analysis tools is common. Critical thinking, attention to detail, and strong problem-solving skills help distinguish top performers in this role. These competencies are crucial for accurately interpreting complex patterns and generating valuable insights in scientific, financial, or engineering contexts.

Job description

It's fun to work in a company where people truly BELIEVE in what they are doing!
We're committed to bringing passion and customer focus to the business.
Fractal Analytics is a strategic AI partner for Fortune 500 companies with a vision to power every human decision in the enterprise. Fractal is building a world where individual choices, freedom, and diversity are the greatest assets. An ecosystem where human imagination is at the heart of every decision. Where no possibility is written off, only challenged to get better. We believe that a true Fractalite is one who empowers imagination with intelligence. And that it will be such Fractalites that will continue to build the company for the next 100 years.
Role Overview:
We're looking for a true hunter to drive new client acquisition across our Financial Services practice. You are someone who loves opening doors, building relationships from scratch, and turning prospects into signed, net-new logos. You'll own pipeline creation and the full sales cycle end to end, with a clear focus on winning new business rather than managing accounts over the long term.
The ideal person brings best-in-class strength in at least one core area: Financial Services domain expertise, technical and analytics-led selling, or disciplined sales execution and uses it to position our AI and analytics solutions where they'll make the biggest impact.
What You'll Do:
โ€ข Win net-new clients across Financial Services, specifically in banking, payments, and asset/wealth management
โ€ข Build and manage a consistent, self-generated pipeline
โ€ข Own the full sales cycle, from prospecting through close
โ€ข Structure and negotiate commercial terms, pricing, and SOWs to close new business
โ€ข Support RFPs and build compelling, client-specific proposals that win
โ€ข Run a structured, disciplined sales process (for example, MEDDIC)
โ€ข Engage senior client stakeholders and position our AI and analytics solutions to their needs
โ€ข Partner closely with internal teams to close deals and set up a smooth delivery handoff
โ€ข Collaborate with distributed delivery and consulting teams across the US and India
โ€ข Transition accounts to delivery after the sale, keeping your focus on the next win
What We're Looking For:
You'll be best-in-class in at least one of these areas, and comfortable across the rest:
โ€ข Financial Services domain expertise
โ€ข Technical and analytics-led selling
โ€ข Disciplined, rigorous sales execution
We'd also love to see:
โ€ข A proven ability to build and manage a pipeline independently
โ€ข Strong sales discipline and deal rigor
โ€ข A track record of closing new business
โ€ข The ability to engage both business and technical stakeholders
โ€ข Experience selling complex solutions across AI, analytics, consulting, or technology
โ€ข Depth in core analytics domains such as Customer Analytics, Marketing Analytics, and Forecasting
โ€ข A hands-on selling style : you're in the deals, not just overseeing them
โ€ข Experience in growth-stage or mid-size companies (a plus)
Experience & Qualifications:
โ€ข 10-14 years of sales experience, ideally selling complex or consultative solutions
โ€ข A proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
โ€ข Strong communication and stakeholder-engagement skills
โ€ข Comfort operating in cross-functional, fast-moving environments
โ€ข Willingness to travel as needed (up to ~30%)
โ€ข A graduate degree in a quantitative or technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, Mathematics) is preferred
What Success Looks Like:
โ€ข $2M-$5M in annual new-business revenue from net-new logos
โ€ข A consistently generated, healthy pipeline that converts
โ€ข Strong, repeatable adherence to your sales process
How This Role Works:
This is a dedicated new-business role. You'll focus on acquiring high-quality, scalable clients, then hand engagements off to our delivery teams once deals close - so you can keep doing what you do best: hunting and winning new logos.
Pay:
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Fractal, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the starting base salary for this role is $250,000, with the potential for a higher base depending on experience, skills, and overall fit for the position. This role is also eligible for a performance-based bonus tied to achieving sales goals related to new client acquisition and project growth.
Benefits:
As a full-time employee of the company or as an hourly employee working more than 30 hours per week, you will be eligible to participate in the health, dental, vision, life insurance, and disability plans in accordance with the plan documents, which may be amended from time to time. You will be eligible for benefits on the first day of employment with the Company. In addition, you are eligible to participate in the Company 401(k) Plan after 30 days of employment, in accordance with the applicable plan terms. The Company provides for 11 paid holidays and 12 weeks of Parental Leave. We also follow a "free time" PTO policy, allowing you the flexibility to take time needed for either sick time or vacation.
Fractal provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
If you like wild growth and working with happy, enthusiastic over-achievers, you'll enjoy your career with us!
