Role Summary
A mid-level AWS Cloud Developer responsible for supporting data engineering, development, and maintenance within a high-volume financial data environment. This role involves designing and implementing cloud-based solutions on AWS, collaborating within an Agile team to ensure the integrity and efficiency of mission-critical data ingestion pipelines. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to regulatory and analytical systems with a focus on data migration, automation, and cloud service integration.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, and deploy AWS cloud solutions to support data ingestion and processing pipelines.
  • Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Support the design, development, and maintenance of cloud databases, including Redshift and RDS.
  • Perform routine data validation, code reviews, and quality assurance checks.
  • Manage data migration strategies from on-premises data warehouses to cloud environments.
  • Support system analysis, architecture, and deployment activities aligned with project goals.
  • Automate workflows using AWS services such as Lambda, Step Functions, and Glue.
  • Maintain source control and deployment pipelines utilizing tools like Git and Jenkins.
  • Provide regular project updates within Agile frameworks and through weekly status reports.
  • Assist with troubleshooting, performance tuning, and system optimization of cloud services.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field with at least 5 years of relevant experience, or a High School Diploma or equivalent with 9+ years of experience.
  • Extensive experience working with AWS services including API Gateway, Lambda, S3, EC2, Step Functions, Glue, Athena, and Spectrum.
  • Proficiency in Python and XML, with experience in ETL processes and data migration strategies.
  • Strong understanding of data exchange message formats such as FIXML, FPML, or industry-standard XML protocols.
  • AWS developer certification is required.
  • Experience designing and implementing cloud data warehouses, including Redshift and RDS.
  • Knowledge of financial industry data environments is advantageous.
  • This position is subject to national security requirements under U.S. law. Candidates must be U.S. citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
  • Prior experience working in Agile development environments.
  • Familiarity with version control, CI/CD workflows, and cloud deployment best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills to provide progress updates and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Publishing Pay Range: $60.00 - $65.00 hourly

This position is based in office and requires employee to work on-site.
