Overview
The NDT (FPI and/or MPI) Level II Technician is responsible for performing, interpreting, and documenting non-destructive inspections on aerospace components in accordance with applicable specifications and standards. This role supports quality assurance in a special processing environment, ensuring compliance with customer, regulatory, and internal requirements.
Salary: $25- $35/hr DOE
Responsibilities
Perform NDT inspections using methods such as:
Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI/PT)
Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI/MT)
  • Interpret inspection results and determine accept/reject criteria per aerospace specifications (e.g., ASTM, AMS, NADCAP).
  • Set up and calibrate NDT equipment in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Prepare and maintain inspection reports, logs, and certifications.
  • Ensure compliance with NADCAP and customer-specific requirements.
  • Assist in developing and reviewing NDT procedures and techniques.
  • Train and mentor Level I technicians as required.
  • Maintain work area, chemicals, and equipment in accordance with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Participate in audits (internal, customer, and regulatory).

Skills / Qualifications
Qualifications:
  • Certification as NDT Level II in one or more methods per ASNT or NAS 410 standards.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical degree preferred).
  • Minimum 2-5 years of experience in aerospace NDT or special processing.
  • Strong understanding of aerospace materials, processes, and defect mechanisms.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and work instructions.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in aerospace special processing (plating, heat treating, coatings).
  • Prior experience in a NADCAP-accredited facility.
  • Multi-method Level II certification.

Skills & Competencies:
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with quality systems such as AS9100.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Basic computer skills for reporting and data entry.
