Job Description – FPW Engineer 

FSLA Status: Exempt

Location: Lordstown, OH

Reports To: FPW Manager

Primary Function: As a key member of the Foxconn Production Way (FPW) team, you will be responsible for driving Operational Excellence through engineering and Lean methodologies, Policy Deployment, standardization, risk management, data-driven performance improvement, and continuous improvement across the organization. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Foxconn Production Way (FPW) across the organization using Lean methodologies and engineering principles.
  • Lead and support Policy Deployment activities, including strategic objective alignment, KPI development, performance monitoring, data analysis, and departmental follow-up.
  • Apply engineering problem-solving and data analysis methods to identify performance gaps, determine root causes, develop improvement solutions, and validate results.
  • Support Management Review activities by analyzing organizational performance, KPI trends, objective status, audit results, risks, and improvement initiatives, and providing actionable insights to management.
  • Develop, implement, and sustain standardized FPW processes, Lean management methods and tools, visual management, and standardized work to improve organizational consistency and performance.
  • Develop and maintain PFMEAs and lead risk assessment activities to identify process risks, evaluate potential failure modes, establish controls, and implement mitigation actions.
  • Conduct FPW, Layered Process, and management system audits to evaluate adherence to established standards, identify gaps, and drive corrective and preventive actions.
  • Lead and facilitate Lean Manufacturing, Operational Excellence, Kaizen, and structured problem-solving initiatives across functional areas.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness and sustainability of improvement initiatives using KPIs, audit results, performance trends, and Management Review outcomes.
  • Support the implementation and sustainment of Daily Management Systems and provide training on FPW, Policy Deployment, Lean, standardization, risk management, and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams and department leaders to deploy FPW standards, address performance and process risks, and drive alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Utilize data analytics and digital tools to improve performance visibility, support data-driven decision-making, and identify opportunities for operational improvement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering or an equivalent discipline is required, preferably in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Quality, engineering management or a related field.

Required Experience

  • Minimum of three (3) years of manufacturing experience required; high-volume manufacturing experience is preferred.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, production systems, or the Foxconn Production Way (FPW).
  • Experience supporting or leading cross-functional projects and initiatives.
  • Experience developing dashboards, KPIs, and performance reports.
  • Experience planning, conducting, or supporting internal audits, including ISO management system audits and Layered Process Audits (LPA), is preferred.
  • Experience conducting training, workshops, and facilitating cross-functional meetings is preferred.
  • Experience implementing and promoting standardized work, problem solving, waste elimination, and continuous improvement within the Foxconn Production Way (FPW) framework is preferred.

  • Professional certifications in ISO management systems (Lead/Internal Auditor) and Lean Six Sigma (White Belt, Yellow Belt, or higher) are preferred.

  • Adaptable to program management and OEM software. 
  • Speak effectively before groups of customers, suppliers, or employees of the organization.
