Job description

Company Description: John W. Stone Oil Distributor, LLC is the local leader in dockside, mid-streaming, and offshore fueling along the Mississippi River, from Baton Rouge, Louisiana,to Venice, Louisiana, and into the Gulf of Mexico.

Position: Dockman Fourchon

Reports To: Facility Manager

Worksite: Dockside Facility in Fourchon, Louisiana (on-site sleeping accommodations are available).

Work Schedule: 14 days (7 days / 7 nights) on / 7 full days off. 12 hours per shift.

Headquarters: Located in Terrytown, Louisiana.

  • Load and discharge liquid cargo to and from docks, vessels, trucks, tote tanks, and shore tanks.
  • Perform tankering/bunkering operations.
  • Complete and submit paperwork, including sales tickets, daily reports, and the like in a timely manner.
  • Offload trash and used oil filters from vessels.
  • Update job logs on an ongoing basis.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the facility.
  • Operate a fork lift.
  • Maintain equipment.
  • Troubleshoot problems.
  • Complete sale tickets along with other necessary paperwork
  • Track inventory.
  • Repackage inventory.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Able to work unsupervised.
  • Adhere to and comply with company and safety policies, United States Coast Guard Regulations, and environmental laws and regulations.
  • Other duties that may be requested by Director, Supervisor or Executive Management as needed

Minimum Qualifications

  • At Least 18 Years of Age.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Reliable Transportation to and from Work.
  • High School Diploma (or its equivalent).
  • Valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
  • Basic Computer Skills.
  • At Least Six Months of Heavy Manual-Labor Work Experience.
  • Fuel or oilfied experience a plus
  • Crane and Forklift expereince preferred
