Foundry Engineer
Focused on Mueller foundry engineering and operations, the ideal candidate will leverage their strong technical knowledge to develop and deploy solutions for optimized productivity, asset utilization, and cost reduction. This position is an integral part of Mueller's long-term growth strategy, focusing on growing and accelerating technical capabilities in its foundry operations. This role will provide a broad range of experiences in various facets to accelerate the development of foundry knowledge areas and operations. This position will offer experience across a spectrum of foundry knowledge areas, including Metallurgy, Simulation, Lost Foam, Green Sand DISA, Tool Design, Equipment, Design, Layout, Quality, and Operations Support. This role will involve leading and managing mission-critical projects in our foundry to deliver process, performance, cost, and efficiency improvements.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Develop a strong working knowledge of foundry technical operations
  • Manage key projects in support of improved foundry throughput, cost efficiency, and technology upgrades
  • Support daily operations with problem definition, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation
  • Performs other related duties related to Manufacturing Engineering:
    • Project Management
    • Capital Prioritization & Tracking
    • Engineering Tools (i.e., PFMEA, Equip Qualification, Capacity Analysis, RCFA, etc.)

Qualifications: Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Foundry or Industrial Technologies, Materials Science, Metallurgy, Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering
  • Relevant work experience
  • DISA Molding Equipment and Process Experience
