Tyler Union is currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Pattern Maker to join our team. This position is ideal for individuals with a strong background in pattern making who take pride in precision, craftsmanship, and quality workmanship. The Pattern Maker will be responsible for laying out, machining, fitting, and assembling castings and parts into metal or plastic foundry patterns, core boxes, and match plates. This is a hands-on role that plays a critical part in supporting our foundry operations and maintaining high production standards. Starting pay for this position is $29.14 per hour.

All candidates offered employment must submit to a drug screen, physical, and background check.
- Follow all processes and procedures associated with the Tyler Union Safety Management Program. Advise management of any deviations from this program.
- Set up and operate machine tools, such as drill presses, disc sanders, spindle sanders, table saws, band saws, planners, jointers and radial saws.
- Read and interpret blueprints or drawings of parts to be cast or patterns to be made, compute dimensions, and plan operational sequences.
- Build offset parting boards and flask.
- Mount and gate working patterns as instructed.
- Verify conformance of patterns or core box dimensions to specifications, using measuring instruments such as calipers, scales, or micrometers.
- Repair and rework templates, patterns, and core boxes.
- Mark identification numbers or symbols onto patterns or templates.
- Must keep and maintain a neat and orderly workstation.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associate degree in a technical field or training in a vocational school preferred.
- Basic machining experience preferred.
- Three (2) years' experience in pattern making.
- Must demonstrate mastery of building offset parting boards and flasks, mounting and gating of working patterns, and conformance to patterns to specifications.
