We Are Stardust, LP dba Stardust has an opening for an Investment Associate in New York, NY.


Job duties include: Support the investment team to build a best-in-class portfolio of direct investments and LP allocations in niche funds strategies. Participate in all aspects of the business. Conduct financial and operational due diligence on potential investment opportunities, including analysis of industry dynamics, competitive positioning, and management quality. Build detailed financial models and valuation analysis, including expected returns analysis. Prepare comprehensive investment memoranda and presentation materials for internal discussions and investment committee meetings. Support sourcing of new investment opportunities through market research, industry mapping, and networking with founders, sponsors, and intermediaries. Monitor and analyze portfolio company performance, including quarterly financial results, KPI tracking, and performance benchmarking. Assist in transaction execution by coordinating with external advisors, legal counsel, and management teams. Contribute to internal reporting processes, including portfolio updates and fund performance summaries for internal and external stakeholders.


Requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Economics, Finance, or a closely related analytical field, from an accredited undergraduate business school or university. 

Requires 1 year of experience as an Investment Banking Analyst, Investment Analyst, or related position. Must have 1 year of experience conducting financial statement analysis and valuation modeling, including discounted cash-flow (DCF), comparable-company, and precedent-transaction analyses using Microsoft Excel;

1 year of experience performing industry and company due diligence, including market research, competitive benchmarking, and assessment of business performance metrics;

1 year of experience preparing presentation and investment materials for senior decision-makers, including investment memoranda, pitchbooks, and board-level materials in Microsoft PowerPoint; 1 year of experience utilizing financial databases and research tools such as PitchBook, Capital IQ, or Bloomberg to gather and analyze company, transaction, and market data;

1 year of experience reviewing financial statements and transaction documentation, including offering memoranda, term sheets, and deal agreements, in connection with M&A, equity, and debt transactions.


Travel approximately 5% of the time. Travel is primarily domestic to attend diligence meetings, portfolio site visits, and conferences; trips are short-term and usually do not involve overnight or weekend trips on a regular basis.


Salary is $88,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year.
