• Plan, develop, implement, oversee, and evaluate all private foundation and government fundraising activities across Area Command based on a formalized fund development program; assist in strengthening relationships with foundation representatives to increase engagement and assess potential giving opportunities.
• Work closely with programs team and Grants and Contracts Specialists to develop relationships with government entities to secure government funding.
• Collaborate with Grants Coordinator to strengthen relationships and steward gifts, overseeing the preparation of proposals and applications.
• Partner with immediate supervisor or Area Command Officers to support campaign fundraising.

• Direct selection, training, and supervision of all staff responsible for foundation giving and government grants; instruct and train employees in proper methods and procedures; monitor compliance with policies, procedures, standards, and regulations; conduct performance evaluations.
• Administer, lead, plan, and supervise Foundation Giving and government grants to increase donor engagement and achieve fundraising goals.
• Provide strong, effective, and highly visible leadership to the Foundation Giving and grants teams to maximize critical resources; ensure employees are motivated and empowered to identify innovative approaches.
• Mentor and lead Grants Coordinator and Grants and Contracts Specialists staff to promote teamwork and employee engagement.
• Supervise the expenditure of granted funds and submission of progress and final reports; work with the financial department to ensure proper monitoring and tracking of grant revenue and costs.

• Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate a variety of foundation giving and government grant strategies to achieve short- and long-range goals; communicate status and accomplishments to supervisors.
• Lead a team to implement strategies and hold members accountable for meeting fundraising goals and metrics.
• Develop, prepare, and monitor monthly reports illustrating progress against goals; review with team and share with supervisor.
• Create and maintain an active grants calendar and cultivation/solicitation strategy to grow funding from foundations across Area Command.
• Create and maintain an active government grants calendar and cultivation/solicitation strategy to grow funding from government entities across Area Command and at state/federal levels; ensure compliance and reporting.
• Collaborate with other departments and Officers at Corps centers to identify budget-relieving funding opportunities and needs throughout Area Command.

• Develop and foster relationships with foundation funders, establishing connections with staff, board, volunteers, and donors.
• Collaborate with programs teams to develop relationships with government entities, ensuring awareness of potential funding opportunities and alignment with Salvation Army programs.
• Maintain donor management system, ensuring accurate and complete profiles for each donor and prospect; record contacts, relationships, activities, meeting notes, and giving histories.
• Develop, establish, and maintain a list of foundation donors/prospects; respond to inquiries in an accurate, timely, and professional manner; evaluate day-to-day efforts to ensure goal achievement.
• Actively use internal case statements and gift opportunities to provide accurate information and opportunities to donors.
• Work with Grants Coordinator to develop letters, proposals, and reports for foundations.
• Coordinate with Grants and Contracts Specialists, compliance, and finance teams to ensure grant reporting and invoicing are completed on time.
• Accompany Advisory Board members, Managing Director, Area Commander, and supervisors as needed in support of visits with foundations.
• Collaborate with the Community Relations Department team to coordinate communications, stewardship, and solicitation activities, maximizing relationships with foundations.

• Ability to meet attendance requirements.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate English effectively.
• Ability to travel to various locations for meetings and institutional events.
• Work performed in accordance with the ministry of the organization and its Christian principles; conduct all communications and duties with the highest level of professionalism.
• Typically seated; may be relieved by brief periods of standing or walking.
• Limited physical effort required for walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) frequently.

Work may be performed in an office environment with minimal physical discomfort related to weather or noise, dust, dirt, and similar conditions.

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
• Seven years of successful foundation and fundraising experience OR any equivalent combination of training and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

• Valid Texas Driver’s License; CFRE certification preferred.
