Job description

The ISO Mechanic is responsible for performing testing, repairing and maintenance on trailers and ISO tanks to ensure safe and productive operations.

PRIMARY RESPOSIBILITIES

  • Perform preventative maintenance (PM) and minor repairs on Kenworth and Freightliner trucks
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical problems found
  • Perform testing and preventative maintenance on trailers/ISO
  • Perform tank testing (K - Leakage, P - Pressure)
  • Perform inspections to ensure DOT requirements are met and take corrective measures when required
  • Read and interpret work orders, communicate with drivers on repairs and discuss preventive measures
  • Demonstrated ability to operate container lifts with both loaded and empty containers in accordance with safety and operational guidelines.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration
  • Noise level in the work environment can be loud
  • Requires frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing
  • Able to lift and/or move items up to 50 lbs.
  • Vision abilities: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Correctable to 20/20 or better.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Personal set of tools based on our experience, will allow a window of time to acquire any hand tools you may need. We also strongly recommend a locking toolbox for your station
  • Several years of industry knowledge and experience performing maintenance, testing and diagnostics on trailer units and tankers
  • Knowledgeable of air/brake systems
  • Diesel Mechanic certifications with CDL preferred
  • Able to work flexible schedules including shift work, weekends, holidays and on-call rotations for roadside assistance
