Responsibilities

SummitRidge Hospital –is a place for Healing and Hope!  Our acute care psychiatric hospital is in Lawrenceville (about 25 miles northeast of downtown Atlanta).  We provide psychiatric and substance use disorder treatment to adolescents, adults, and seniors, in addition to partial hospitalization and other outpatient programs (includes a location in Athens). 

Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Dietitian (PRN) to join our talented team. Primarily responsible for performing functions of Clinical nutrition service, such as nutrition assessment, modified diet formulations and self-management training. Clinical Responsibilities: Assess high risk patients identified by nursing from patients’ health history form, physicians, and other allied health care professionals. Assessment may include calculation for energy and proteins needs based on body mass index (BMI), height/weight, and ideal body weight (BMI). Determination of visceral protein and somatic protein depletion/malnutrition. Analyzing electrolytes, micronutrients (vitamins and minerals), macronutrients (carbohydrate/protein/fat), and other laboratory data applicable to normal and diseased pathophysiology. Calculate estimate fluid requirement based on age, hydration, and clinical status of patients. Determinations of obesity based on BMI with appropriate level of grading. Follow Nutrition Care Plan to reassess and change plans as necessary. Calculate and document intake analysis. Educate patients and family members on modified diet. Create and revise patient education materials.

  • Current Georgia licensure as a Dietitian required.
  • Prior hospital experience in clinical nutrition for 2 years preferred with current skills of Patient Assessment in the Acute Care Environment.
