Many streamers and content creators also make a career by producing Fortnite-related content.

What is a Fortnite player?

Fortnite players, often called 'Fortnite pros' or 'Fortnite gamers,' are individuals who play the popular online video game Fortnite, either casually or competitively. Professional Fortnite players compete in tournaments, stream their gameplay, and may earn income through prize winnings, sponsorships, and content creation. These players typically have advanced skills, deep knowledge of the game's mechanics, and a strong online presence. Many also engage with fans through platforms like Twitch or YouTube, sharing tips, live gameplay, and entertaining content.

What does a Fortnite Game Designer do?

As a Fortnite Game Designer, your day often involves collaborating with artists, developers, and product managers to brainstorm and prototype new features or content. WHAT MAKES US EPIC?

At the core of Epicโ€™s success are talented, passionate people. Epic prides itself on creating a collaborative, welcoming, and creative environment. Whether itโ€™s building awardโ€‘winning games or crafting engine technology that enables others to make visually stunning interactive experiences, weโ€™re always innovating.

Being Epic means being a part of a team that continually strives to do right by our community and users. Weโ€™re constantly innovating to raise the bar of engine and game development.

PRODUCT MANAGEMENT - UNREAL ENGINE What We Do

Unreal-powered projects have led the way in real-time entertainment for over 20 years. Our team of industry experts continuously innovates to enhance the tools and technology that empower developers around the world.

What Youโ€™ll Do

The Unreal Ecosystem empowers developers to create and publish the next generation of digital entertainment to hundreds of millions of global consumers. As a Senior Director of Product Management, Unreal Ecosystem, you will serve as the senior business partner to our engine development leadership, owning strategy and growth for Unreal Editor for Fortnite, UE6 and other Epic developer tools and services. You will define vision and strategy, partner with product development to bring that vision to life, and work closely with our GTM teams to drive adoption and commercial outcomes. You will bring both strategic vision and operational rigor to one of the most consequential platforms in realโ€‘time 3D creation and digital entertainment.

In this role, you will
  • Drive ecosystem strategy for Unreal Editor for Fortnite and Unreal Engine, partnering closely with engineering and product leadership to prioritize initiatives that drive creator growth, developer adoption, platform performance, and commercial outcomes
  • Define measurable goals for major roadmap initiatives, track business impact across releases, and use those insights to continuously refine prioritization
  • Stay deeply connected to the UEFN creator and UE developer community, translating their needs and behaviors into ecosystem strategy alongside the creator success team
  • Champion adoption of platformโ€‘level social and discovery features, including friends, parties, and text chat into a native layer of the Epic ecosystem
  • Define and grow pathways for developers to participate in the broader epic ecosystem and metaverse economy, shaping new commercial models and open standards
  • Lead and grow a team of product managers, providing mentorship, organizational clarity, and the structure needed to execute a complex, multiโ€‘workstream roadmap effectively
  • Collaborate across Product, Engineering, Design, Marketing, and crossโ€‘functional partners to align on priorities, requirements, and goโ€‘toโ€‘market execution for major platform releases
What weโ€™re looking for
  • 12+ years of product management experience, with meaningful time spent on developer tools, game engines, or complex platform ecosystems
  • Deep understanding of the game development process and the needs of creators and developers building on realโ€‘time 3D platforms
  • Proven ability to function as a business partner to engineering leadership someone who can bring goalโ€‘setting, prioritization frameworks, and growth thinking to a team that builds the platform others build on
  • Experience defining and tracking product KPIs, measuring roadmap impact, and using data to drive decisions
  • Strong understanding of platform ecosystem dynamics such as social features, marketplace integrations, developer services, and how they compound into longโ€‘term growth
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to align diverse stakeholders, write clear product requirements, and present strategy to senior leadership
  • Experience managing and developing highโ€‘performing product managers across multiple concurrent workstreams
  • A genuine passion for the creator and developer community; someone who stays close to how developers and players are evolving and can translate that into a compelling product vision
