Job description

We are seeking a Director of Research & Development to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a key part in leading innovation and driving product development from concept to commercialization in alignment with consumer and market insights.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teamsโ€”including Marketing, Operations, and Supply Chainโ€”to deliver high-performance consumer products in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end product development, ensuring speed, technical excellence, and manufacturability.
  • Partner with Marketing to translate innovation concepts into viable, high-performing products.
  • Oversee R&D operations, streamline processes, and manage timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
  • Ensure all products meet licensor standards, regulatory compliance, and internal quality benchmarks.
  • Stay ahead of CPG industry trends and emerging technologies to drive technical innovation.
Required Qualifications
  • Proficiency in: Product formulation, R&D process management, CPG product lifecycle, cross-functional collaboration.
  • Relevant certifications: None required, but scientific credentials or regulatory training is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving and technical troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and project management abilities.
  • 10+ years of experience in CPG Research & Development, with at least 5+ years in a leadership role.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with: Fabric care, household cleaning products, licensed brand collaboration, contract manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with stage-gate innovation processes and cross-functional project planning.
  • Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
  • Prior experience in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environments within the consumer products industry.
