Job description

A Hi-Five Sports Zone Assistant Manager will report to the GM and will assist in the day-to-day operations of the facility, as well as assist in creating awareness in the community in regard to what Hi-Five Sports offers. This person must be comfortable leading a large group, delegating tasks to assistant coaches, and be able to work under pressure. They must also be comfortable meeting with and promoting to local youth organizations, preschools, daycares, and elementary school groups. At times when the GM is absent, the Manager will be in charge. This position has huge growth potential!

Physical Aspects of the Job::

This position would require the ability to listen to others, observe others actions, read text and

information, comprehend instructions and manuals, physical ability to move about the Program

property in various environmental conditions.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities::

Knowledge of youth and youth development; skills needed in planning programs and setting schedule.

Knowledge of human resource management, maintenance, transportation issues, budget and finances, and program activities specific to the program’s population would be desirable. Current certification in first aid and CPR.

Compensation:

$30,000 per year based on experience

Requirements:

Ideal candidates have the following qualities and experience:

Connections with the local community. Experience coaching and/or teaching locally a plus as well. Be passionate about creating positive environments and experiences for children

Have an outgoing, energetic attitude, and be confident in teaching, leading, and facilitating discussions with children ages 2-13 years old.

Experience working with and love of children of a variety of ages, abilities, and personalities

Bachelors Degree or greater

Sports experience – intercollegiate, intramural, and/or high school experience

Experience playing and/or coaching one or more of the following sports: soccer, baseball/softball, basketball, football, and fitness.

Flexible, takes direction and has initiative, and is comfortable in a fast paced, changing environment

Mandatory paid trainings will occur once employment is complete. Training will be paid at the employee’s agreed wage.

All candidates accepted for the position will be asked to undergo a fingerprinted background check by the Department of Justice.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities

1. Leading a group of players in organized drills, games, and scrimmages.

2. Leading birthday parties when the GM is not present

3. Assist with offsite events and afterschool programs.

4. Assist with marketing initiatives and customer communications.

5. Be a role model to all customers and staff in your attitude and behavior.

6. Follow and uphold all safety and security rules and procedures. Set a good example to children and others in regard to general company procedures and practices including sanitation, schedule, and sportsmanship.

  • 7. Represent the company when interacting with parents or community members. Provide parents appropriate feedback and information for their child to have a successful experience. Always and in all ways, present a positive image of the company and yourself.
