Job description

We have immediate Fork Truck Driver openings at Vitro Automotive (formerly PGW) in Tipton, PA. This position works as a member of the Production Department and is responsible for transporting, staging and loading glass and other materials.

  • Keep proper glass stocked at the load stations.
  • Remove full racks of glass from the unload stations.
  • Set empty racks in place to keep the line running
  • Set up finished stocked containers
  • Set empty finished stock containers onto the packing stations
  • Place starter tickets on finished stock containers at the time they are set onto the packing stations
  • Remove finished stock containers, ticket, upend, close and place in the finished stock storage areas
  • Keep paper and lash boards and materials for closing containers stocked and ready
  • Empty paper hoppers and scrap glass hoppers and manage storage of scrap vinyl bins
  • Inspect and pack glass into designated racks when needed.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • $19.18 per hour
  • $0.50 shift differential (nights)
  • Day or night shift available
  • Every other weekend off. 12-hour shifts.

Education / Experience:

    • Forklift experience preferred, but not required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS, SAFETY and WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    1. Must be able to safely operate a forklift.
    2. Performs duties within normal industrial environmental conditions and outside and may encounter extreme heat, cold, wet or dangerous weather conditions.
    3. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
    4. Must be able to push/pull, grip to use hand tools, reach, see, hear and speak.
    5. Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
    6. Must be able to inspect glass for defects and rejects when assigned
    7. Must be able to inspect and pack glass when assigned
    8. Associate must follow posted security procedures at all times while in the building.
    9. Must follow all PPE requirements.
