ATI is currently seeking a Business Development Manager located at our Cudahy, WI location. In this role, you will identify new business opportunities in Aerospace and Energy end markets which align with ATI's strengths and overall grow strategy. The ideal candidate will quickly identify key aerospace and energy related programs, target customers, develop customer specific strategic value proposition plans and execute on such plans to win profitable new business. A successful Business Development Manager will have strong interpersonal and communication skills along with the ability to quickly grasp ATI's product and process technology capabilities. They need to exhibit a self-starter attitude in identifying and capturing business opportunities in a highly competitive and dynamic environment.
Essential Duties
  • Stay accountable to grow both the customer base and the revenue from strategic targeted growth opportunities.
  • Develop relationships with new or potential customers to establish open dialog and clearly articulate the value proposition ATI Forged Products brings to that customer
  • Coordinate cross-functional input from engineering, quality, marketing, and operations in identifying needs and quoting new business opportunities.
  • Assist in development of annual forecasts and the plans/strategies to achieve company objectives. When appropriate, drive these strategic initiatives into new markets.
  • Develop and maintain strategic plans to grow market share / penetration of Aerospace and Energy primes.
  • Support and collaborate with ATI Business Development teams and other ATI business unit initiatives, including attending and/or coordinating conferences or symposiums.
  • Manage key customer account problems and resolutions. Provide data and reports to customers as needed.
  • Manage new customer development projects, including product offerings and recommended pricing levels.

Basic Requirements
  • B.A. in Engineering, Marketing, Business or related field is required
  • 5+ years of direct customer contact in defense or heavy industrial field sales

Preferred
  • The position requires a working knowledge of metals forming, casting or forging process and engineering concepts.
  • Knowledge of titanium, nickel, and steel alloys is a plus.
  • Prior experience utilizing CRM (Customer Relationship Management) software such as Sales Force, Dynamics 365 or other relative platform

  • Ability to negotiate commercial deals and obtain profitable orders, through short and long sales cycles.
  • Ability to understand and explain technical processes to educate customers, suppliers, and management.
  • Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and influence at all levels of an organization
  • Excellent formal presentation skills, must be comfortable presenting to customers and executive management
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Highly self-motivated and able to manage multiple projects, assignments, and competing priorities.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and project management skills.
  • High level of accountability to follow up and follow through on action items and customer commitments, with a customer service focused mentality.
  • Willingness to travel.
