Working Conditions
Maintains the Arduous Fitness Standard in accordance with Department Policy. The incumbent is required to wear respiratory protection equipment, including self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA). As such, Cal/OSHA requires that the incumbent be annually medically cleared to be fit tested for respiratory protection equipment. May be subject to working nights, weekends, or holidays as well as extensive travel.

Special Requirements
FELONY DISCLOSURE
Pursuant to California Penal Code 4571, any individual interested in seeking employment who may be required to work with inmates at a conservation camp must disclose of any prior felony status up front, so CAL FIRE/CDCR can provide informed consent to a former felon to be on the Conservation Camp/Prison grounds. PREA INFORMATION
Positions located at a Camp or requiring the supervision of inmates requires compliance with the Prison Rape Elimination Act. Compliance is determined by completing a Live Scan prior to appointment and during the course of employment to verify the standards of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 115 Prison Rape Elimination Act National Standards are met.

Waste Water Operator, Water Distribution Operator, Water Treatment Operator, Refrigerant License, C-20, EPA 608 Refrigerants, Fire Alarms Technician, and Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester and Repair.

This program temporarily reduces employees' monthly base pay in exchange for paid leave credits. This position is subject to PLP 2025 and will have a monthly base pay reduction of 3% in exchange for 5 hours of leave credits through June 2027. The salary ranges shown on this job posting do not reflect the salary reduction.
Salary Range B - This range shall only apply to incumbents in positions with direct responsibility for work supervision, on-the-job training, and work performance evaluation of at least 2 inmates, wards, or resident workers.
