Job Description

The Dispute Resolution Director will be a key member of the SOCOTEC Advisory leadership team providing traditional construction dispute case leadership including analysis, opinion and expert testimony in support of mediation, arbitration or trial proceedings, and development and/or evaluation of construction claims.  The ideal candidate will have the ability to manage multiple caseloads, have an extensive track record of project testimony and a stellar reputation in the industry.  As a senior member of the DR team a key responsibility includes the expansion of the SOCOTEC Advisory client base and business development.

  • Interface with clients and project stakeholders
  • Provide client with information pertinent to the management and control of the engagement including development of project strategy, work plans and budgets
  • Team lead in the evaluation and preparation and analysis of claims pertinent to candidate's specific qualifications such as project management, engineering/construction, quantification of costs, evaluation of progress, evaluation of time extension and issues including  schedule delay analysis, acceleration, disruption, productivity, work scope changes, drawings and specifications, and site conditions
  • Conduct in-depth research and fact assessment, and perform evaluation  of project data and documentation such as communications, change orders, schedules, pay apps, labor data, cost reports, etc.
  • Perform, review and rebut schedule and cost analyses from other experts
  • Prepare expert reports of findings and responsive reports as needed
  • Create demonstratives and graphics for expert reports and presentations
  • Provide expert testimony or demonstrate a strong desire to be qualified as an "expert" to provide testimony
  • Coaching/mentoring less experienced consultants
  • Industry networking and business development
  • Work effectively on multiple projects with competing priorities
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by your supervisor or manager.
Qualifications

Qualified candidates must have a working knowledge in the following:

  • 10+ years of construction dispute resolution or related experience
  • B.S. in Engineering or Construction Management/Construction Science
  • Excellent technical writing skills
  • Expertise with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, large data management, and graphic communication tools
  • Expertise with MS Office Products (especially Excel)
  • Testimony experience is required
  • US based and valid work permit if applicable
