Job description

Georgia Regional Hospital - Savannah (GRHS) operates 180 licensed, accredited inpatient beds for two major program areas: 1) adult mental health, 2) adult forensic services.
GRH/Savannah offers inpatient adult mental health services, inpatient habilitation services and forensic program services to a catchment area of approximately 45 Georgia counties.
The Psychiatrist, in conjunction with a comprehensive treatment team, addresses the clinical needs of consumers in the hospital. Ask us about our competitive salary, minimal call responsibilities, and benefits package. We currently have openings in admissions, adult mental health inpatient, and forensic inpatient services.
This position is part-time to cover nights, weekends, and holidays.
-Admissions: Job duties include review of referrals from outside facilities for medical/psychiatric appropriateness, evaluation of individuals accepted from the community to determine the need for inpatient treatment, and reevaluation of individuals receiving treatment in our temporary observation unit.
Minimum Qualifications: Medical degree recognized by the Georgia Composite Medical Board (GCMB) AND licensure or license-eligible to practice medicine at a state institution or in the state of Georgia as provided by state law AND Two years of experience at the lower-level Physician 2 (HCP161) or position equivalent.
This is temporary or hourly paid work performing personnel services. Positions in this job are established for less than 9 months or scheduled for less than 30 hours per week and are not eligible for benefits if the position status is temporary (i.e., SCOA 513). Positions in this job are established for greater than 9 months and scheduled for greater than 30 hours per week if the position status is permanent labor (i.e., SCOA 512). Normally permanent labor positions are eligible for Health Insurance benefits.
