Forensic Records Analyst Jobs (NOW HIRING)

DiverseGOV is recruiting an experienced investigative/forensic auditor to support fraud prosecution matters for a federal contract in Detroit, Michigan. The role supports Assistant United States Attorneys, investigative agencies, and case teams by analyzing financial records, federal benefit/program data, identity-related materials, banking and tax records, claims data, grant expenditures, procurement submissions, and other evidence tied to federal fraud investigations and prosecutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct complex financial, forensic, statistical, identity-based, and program-integrity analyses in support of criminal investigations and prosecutions involving federal funds and programs.
• Analyze benefit and program records including SNAP, Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security, Unemployment Insurance, VA programs, federal student aid, tax refunds/rebates/credits, grants, procurement submissions, and related records.
• Perform data-driven analysis such as pattern recognition, anomaly detection, clustering, comparative analysis, suspicious activity identification, identity misuse analysis, and fraud network analysis.
• Prepare loss calculations for charging decisions, plea negotiations, restitution, forfeiture, sentencing, and related litigation needs.
• Conduct asset tracing and financial-flow analysis to identify fraud proceeds, concealment methods, shell entities, commingled assets, and potential recovery sources.
• Review banking records, tax information, claims submissions, contracts, invoices, benefit applications, eligibility records, correspondence, metadata, digital communications, and identity documents.
• Prepare investigative reports, schedules, spreadsheets, charts, timelines, link-analysis diagrams, data summaries, visualizations, and other analytical materials for investigative and litigation use.
• Assist with witness interviews, subject interviews, investigative meetings, hearings, trial preparation, exhibit creation, discovery organization, affidavits, subpoenas, declarations, complaints, warrants, indictments, and trial presentations.
• Use electronic databases, government systems, law enforcement resources, public records, analytical software, auditing tools, forensic tools, statistical tools, and visualization tools as required.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting, finance, economics, statistics, data analytics, or a related field.
• Minimum of three years of professional experience involving accounting, auditing, forensic accounting, financial investigations, statistical analysis, or related analytical work.
• Demonstrated ability to support complex fraud, financial, benefit/program integrity, identity misuse, or data-heavy investigations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain adjudication for the required federal background investigation.
• Ability to work with sensitive and confidential investigative information in a secure, professional, and compliant manner.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
• Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).
• Experience supporting federal criminal fraud, benefit fraud, healthcare fraud, unemployment insurance fraud, tax fraud, grants fraud, procurement fraud, or public corruption matters.

Work Environment and Compliance Expectations

• Must protect sensitive, confidential, investigative, legal, PII/PHI, and government information in accordance with contract and client requirements.
• Must complete required ethics, cybersecurity, privacy, records management, and other client-directed training within required timelines after onboarding.
• Must sign required nondisclosure, rules of behavior, and related federal contractor acknowledgements before accessing client systems or sensitive information.
• Travel may be required within the district or occasionally outside the district when directed and approved in advance by authorized government officials.
