Position Overview
Arixa is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Default Specialist. Under general supervision, and in alignment with established policies and procedures, this role involves performing a variety of tasks related to the servicing of commercial and business-purpose real estate transactions post-closing. This position is vital for the accurate handling and management of defaulted mortgage loans, ensuring compliance while completing tasks timely and properly documenting system records.

Summary of Primary Duties and Responsibilities
The Default Specialist is an LA-based position on a hybrid schedule with at least two (2) days in-office. This position will report to the Director, Risk Management. While not an exhaustive list, the Default Specialist will be responsible for:

• Providing exceptional service to clients and non-clients alike, assisting with inquiries, questions, and concerns regarding their loans and other financial needs.
• Manage and process default notifications, updates tracking and ensures delivery by email and certified mail.
• Set up and maintain default tracking and notes.
• Monitor resolution timelines and refers to manager upon expiration.
• Monitor communication with borrowers and update plans to resolve defaults.
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting for default reporting.
• Coordinate with other departments to complete documentation and ensure compliance with SEC regulations.
• Monitor defaulted loans secured by real estate collateral through system tracking and reporting.
• Prepare and reviews default documents for accuracy.
• Maintain accurate records for both internal and external audits.
• Order/recommend appraisals or inspections of properties.
• Continual training and understanding of the default servicing processes.
• Ability to handle and redirect incoming phone calls from customers, law firms and internal departments.
• Compile foreclosure referral packages, including documentation to complete the foreclosure.
• Process default monitoring tasks daily.

Education and Experience
• Associate's degree preferred but not required.
• 2-3 years' experience with loan servicing documents and general policies.
• Knowledge of loan servicing and foreclosure documents and the court/legal process of foreclosure.
• Excellence in customer service; highly motivated, focused and goal oriented.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, planning and follow-up.
• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
• MS Office, typing skills and internet proficiency.
• Must have excellent written and verbal (face-to-face and phone) communication skills including professional grammar and demeanor.
• Prior default service experience.

Compensation

This position is non-exempt full-time, with hourly range: $31 - $36 plus discretionary bonus potential.
