The Operational Services organization at Schwab partners with teams across the firm to deliver on service promises to Schwab clients. We are responsible for protecting and safeguarding the assets of the firm and our clients while continuing to increase scalability and efficiency. Within Operational Services, the Operations Transformation Organization (OTO) is a multi-functional group that is helping to drive transformation across Operational Services and the broader firm. We use a variety of methodologies, tools, and capabilities to drive large-scale change.

The Senior Manager, Analytics Developer role specializes in data science, statistical analysis, and reporting. You will be responsible for developing analytical solutions, building predictive models, and generating reports while partnering with business, finance, and other collaborators to optimize our employee footprint now and in the future.

You will engage Directors and Managing Directors to develop short- and long-term forecasts from a blend of quantitative analysis and business judgement then translate them into strategic, practical staffing plans that meet client service commitments.

We believe in the importance of in-office collaboration and fully intend for the selected candidate for this role to work on site in the specified location(s).

What you’ll do: 

  • Serve as the primary contact between our business and IT partners to ensure that business requirements and technical solutions transform business strategies  
  • Analysis and forecasting to support and optimize Operations resource capacity.
  • Lead the strategy, research, design, and development of predictive models and report solutions to meet stakeholder needs across business, technology, Corporate Strategy, and Finance.
  • Partner and collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into data-driven solutions.
  • Leverage programming languages like Python to streamline data processes, build predictive models, and generate insights.
  • Provide project management support and drive self-paced development efforts.
  • Provide mentorship to other analysts on the team.
  • Understand both business and technical dependencies between business areas and within systems that support or may be impacted by middle office functionality; upstream as well as downstream 
  • Perform planning and scoping for several inter-related initiatives to help senior-level business stakeholders make informed decisions about which initiatives to tackle and how  
  • Facilitate and drive issues resolution and retrospectives between stakeholders  

 

What you have

Required qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in a similar analytics role.
  • Strong proficiency in Python, including libraries for data manipulation (e.g., Pandas), scientific computing (e.g., NumPy), and machine learning/forecasting.
  • Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau and Power BI.
  • 5 years of experience in Agile Framework
  • Strong Excel and PPT experience, including reviewing, manipulating, and presenting data.
  • Highly proficient in statistical modeling, quality assessment, structuring, optimizing, analyzing and interpreting data.
  • Exceptional story-telling skills – the ability to package and present analyses effectively, communicating an insight to be understood easily and to drive action.
  • Have a keen eye for design.
  • Effective time management; must be able to prioritize and multi-task effectively.
  • Education: BS/BA degree required.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with statistical forecasting techniques (e.g., ARIMA, Prophet, time series analysis).
  • Experience with SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
  • 2+ years of program management experience.
  • Application Development Resource Capacity reporting experience.
  • Proficient in collaboration tools like Teams, SharePoint, Confluence, Jira, etc.
  • Experience in a highly regulated financial services environment.
