Job description

Palm Springs Ford in Cathedral City, CA is looking for a Dealership Parts Counter Advisor to serve customers and technicians across the full parts sales process. This role covers everything from helping customers identify the right part, sourcing special orders, and managing inventory accuracy, to keeping the counter running smoothly day to day. If you have a parts background and know how to keep customers informed and satisfied, this is a straightforward fit.

What You'll Do
  • Guide customers and technicians through the parts selection and purchasing process from initial inquiry to fulfillment
  • Partner with the parts manager to source parts not currently in stock
  • Handle special order requests and follow through on status updates and customer notification
  • Track and communicate parts availability and order status to customers and internal staff
  • Maintain accurate knowledge of inventory levels, catalog systems, and ordering procedures
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and applicable federal, state, and local regulations
  • Run an organized, efficient counter that supports both walk-in customers and the internal service department

What We're Looking For
  • Prior auto parts sales or parts counter experience preferred; Ford dealership experience is a plus
  • 1+ year in a service department or parts environment required
  • Strong knowledge of automotive parts and systems
  • Excellent customer communication skills with a professional, approachable manner
  • Strong reading, math, and computer skills; comfortable learning new systems and procedures
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple requests without losing accuracy
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
