Job description

SUMMARY

The Server Assistant plays an essential role in creating smooth and gracious dining experiences across all resort outlets - restaurant, pool, beach, and in-room dining. The position supports the service team by maintaining table settings, assisting with beverage and bread service, clearing and resetting tables, and ensuring all service areas are impeccably organized. Every action contributes to Forbes-level guest satisfaction through attention to detail, teamwork, and anticipatory service.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Sets and maintains tables and service stations according to outlet and Forbes presentation standards.
  • Prepares and restocks side stations with china, glassware, silverware, and condiments throughout service.
  • Assists servers by providing food and beverage running when required.
  • Observes guests discreetly to anticipate needs and ensures tables are cleared and reset promptly after each course or guest departure.
  • Handles guest requests courteously and communicates special needs, allergies, or dietary restrictions accurately to the server and kitchen.
  • Sets up and breaks down buffet and service areas as assigned.
  • Assists with joining tables and setups for large parties and private events, ensuring comfort and aesthetic consistency.
  • Supports cleanliness and readiness of pantry, side, and pass stations throughout the shift.
  • Performs opening, closing and weekly tasks as assigned.
  • Participates in daily line-ups to review menu updates, specials, and key guest information.
  • Operates handheld or POS support devices when required for team communication and digital checklists.
  • Follows all Forbes, resort, and safety guidelines, including proper handling of food, serviceware, and cleaning materials.
  • Assists in other Food & Beverage outlets or functions as needed to support overall resort operations.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience in restaurant or resort food service preferred.
  • Exposure to Forbes or luxury hospitality standards is an advantage.
  • Food Safety Certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire).

REQUIREMENTS

Physical Demands

  • Frequently required to stand, walk, bend, and reach during the shift.
  • Ability to lift, push, or carry up to 50 lbs safely.
  • Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.

Communication

  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with guests and team members.
  • Must read, write, and speak English fluently; additional languages preferred.
