Marvelous Counseling Services is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Counselor who specializes in trauma-informed care. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough trauma-informed assessments to evaluate each patient's trauma history, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of their needs.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans that focus on resilience-building and trauma recovery.
  • Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to support patients effectively.
  • Facilitate individual therapy sessions, providing a safe space for patients to process their trauma and develop essential coping skills.
  • Conduct group therapy sessions that encourage community interaction and healing among peers.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists and other mental health professionals to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support during trauma-related emergencies, demonstrating calmness and professionalism under pressure.
  • Educate patients and their families on understanding trauma responses and the resources available for support.
  • Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with legal and ethical standards, leveraging electronic health record (EHR) systems efficiently.
  • Engage in team meetings, case consultations, and professional development activities focusing on trauma-informed care methodologies.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The Mental Health Counselor will primarily work with adults and adolescents who have experienced various forms of trauma. Our patient population often grapples with PTSD, complex trauma, and related dissociative disorders, necessitating a nuanced understanding of these conditions. Your role involves not only helping patients navigate their healing journey but also fostering an environment where they feel understood and validated.

Qualifications
  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Texas.
  • A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience in mental health counseling or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed care practices.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in delivering trauma-focused therapies and interventions.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, upholding a compassionate and non-judgmental approach toward patients.
