Job description

The duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Demonstrate capability to interact with children in a therapeutic manner that will enhance the lessening of escalation (using restraint as a last resort in accordance with crisis management training).
Transport minors, in an agency vehicle, as needed.
Be able to effectively organize, motivate and carry out recreational activities that will meet the needs of the children served.
Be able to prepare a menu, purchase food, prepare and serve food in an orderly, healthy
and appealing manner, in accordance with Title 22, and the ability to teach the children in their charge, the same.
Be able to respond appropriately, and in accordance with State and EVC regulations, in crisis
or emergent situations as part of a treatment or care team member.
Make every effort to maintain a supportive, working relationship with fellow workers, supervisory and clinical staff, families of children, outside agency workers, and other persons in the community involved with our children.
Be able to effectively communicate in both written and verbal forms and meet all logging, report, and summary writing responsibilities, including daily mental health notes and SIR's. All reports must be turned in to the appropriate staff personnel in a timely manner.
Be able to follow specific procedures and directions in the dispensing and record keeping of medications as directed by Consulting Psychiatrist, and according to Title 22.
Be able to ensure that all assigned housekeeping duties are done daily (during assigned shift) allowing for an inspection ready facility.
Fully comply with all operational memorandums/policies in effect.
Perform other duties as directed by the Facility Supervisor/Administrator or EVC Authorized Staff.
Must have a bachelor's in Psychology, 2 years experience working with children, or 12 units of child development.
