Job description

Research and Assessment

  • Oversee the Office of Institutional Research, Assessment and Planning to sustain relevant, high-quality data collection and analysis, research and evaluation.
  • Provide leadership and supervision of the office that supports the team and the institution's mission and strategic goals.
  • In partnership with the Provost and other college stakeholders, lead the development and implementation of an integrated planning, assessment, and evaluation system across the institution.
  • Collaborate with division and program leaders in the development and execution of academic and non-academic program assessment plans and processes.
  • Oversee and assure accurate and timely institutional reporting to external constituencies and maintenance of data systems where necessary.
  • Utilize analytical tools to respond to internal and external requests for information, monitor institutional performance against local, regional and national benchmarks, conduct analyses to support college planning, enrollment management, program review and assessment.
  • Lead and coordinate on-going accreditation activities and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Serve as the institutional representative in statewide research and assessment committees.
  • Support the college's IRB and provide guidance in the development and assessment of grant and institutionally-funded research projects.
  • Perform other related tasks as required.

Institutional Planning

  • Serve as a strategic partner in the creation of an environment that promotes and supports using research and data analysis to guide decision making and institutional improvement through innovative and professional leadership in the college planning process, operational effectiveness, and policy formation.
  • Coordinate and support institutional planning activities and projects.
  • Coordinate and monitor the collection of strategic plan metrics and progress.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience; Doctorate preferred.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience including effective management of professional staff and personnel, collaboration with faculty, and budgets.
  • Proven leadership of a client-oriented service function at an institution of higher education.
  • Strong analytical skills and quantitative and qualitative research knowledge and experience.
  • Demonstrated experience proactively utilizing data and research to identify and make recommendations on institutional issues.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written and oral communication skills with the ability to shape complex information into presentations that are understandable to diverse audiences.
  • Current knowledge of federal and state higher education policies, issues, regulations, and trends.
  • Successful track-record in managing accreditation activities.
  • Experience with faculty and staff in a collective bargaining environment.
  • Experience working with faculty in a shared governance environment.
