Job description

15-Year-Old Lifeguard | Magic Springs Theme & Water Park
Position Type: Seasonal | Pay: Starting at $11.00/hour
Weekends Only Starting 8/8!

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and maintain surveillance to provide a safe experience for swimmers according to established protection and training standards.
  • Perform water rescues on guests in distress.
  • Provide basic first aid and emergency care.
  • Attend in-service training sessions as directed by management to maintain CPR, first aid, and rescue skills at a rescue ready level.
  • Communicate with management and other employees, including use of phones, whistles, and hand signals.
  • Responsible for operating water attractions and slides.
  • Provide superior guest service to all customers in a polite and expedient manner.
  • Assist customers with all questions regarding Magic Springs Theme & Water Park including facility layout and amenities.
  • Maintain knowledge of and consistently enforce the rules and regulations of the water park (including attraction requirements such as height restrictions, weight restrictions, proper riding position, etc.).
  • Responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and professional work environment.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 15 years old.
  • Ability to successfully complete a Jeff Ellis and Associate lifeguard training course. Training is provided by Magic Springs Theme & Water Park.
  • Must possess oral and written English skills and be able to read and understand operations manuals.
  • Be vigilant, attentive, and work as a team.
  • Some positions require working at elevated heights.
  • Energy and enthusiasm for long shifts.
  • Available to work flexible hours including days, evenings, weekends and holidays to meet business needs. (If 18 years of age and older, ability to work overtime).
  • Ability to work in extreme weather conditions while taking precautions, including hydration and sun-protection.
  • Attention to detail.
Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Requires standing, sitting, kneeling and bending.
  • Requires walking, reaching above shoulder, pushing and pulling.
  • Must be able to lift and carry 10- over 150 pounds with the assistance of a co-worker.
  • Requires manual and bi-manual dexterity, fine, and gross motor skills, eye/hand coordination, near vision, hearing and speech.
  • Possess 20/25 corrected vision. (Corrective lens, if required, must be worn while on stand).
  • Possess normal or average corrected hearing. (Defined as 25 decibels or better in the frequency range of 500HZ-4000HZ considered normal speech frequency range). (If corrective device is needed to achieve this range, it must be worn while on stand).
