OOFOS is redefining comfort through innovative foam technology and a relentless focus on recovery and all-day wear. We are seeking a Footwear Designer II to help evolve our product line, blending performance-driven design with modern lifestyle aesthetics. This role will contribute to the creation of compelling, consumer-centric footwear that pushes the boundaries of comfort and visual appeal. Design the future of all-day recovery footwear by creating elevated, closed-toe comfort products for lifestyle, work, and travel, while developing a distinctive visual language that makes comfort both desirable and functional.


Key Responsibilities

Design Execution

  • Create innovative footwear designs from concept through commercialization across multiple categories (sandals, slides, closed-toe, lifestyle).
  • Help discover, generate and/or translate consumer insights, trend research, and brand strategy into compelling, commercially viable products.
  • Develop detailed design packages including sketches, colorways, materials, and construction specs.


Innovation & Comfort Leadership

  • Integrate OOFOS proprietary foam technologies into new silhouettes and concepts.
  • Partner with Innovation and Development teams to explore new materials, constructions, and comfort solutions.
  • Contribute to evolving โ€œUltimate Comfortโ€ from both a functional and visual standpoint.


Collaboration

  • Partner cross-functionally with Product Management, Development, and Marketing teams to bring concepts to life and ensure alignment through launch.
  • Collaborate with factories and developers to ensure design intent is executed accurately with quality.


Trend & Market Awareness

  • Stay ahead of global footwear, fashion, cultural and consumer trends to inform design direction.
  • Analyze competitor landscape and identify opportunities to differentiate and elevate the OOFOS brand.


Product Lifecycle Support

  • Support fittings, wear testing, and product revisions.
  • Contribute to seasonal line reviews and presentations, bringing ideas to life for internal stakeholders.


Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in footwear design.
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Footwear Design, Industrial Design, Product Design, or related field.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating creativity, technical understanding, and commercial success. Shoemaking experience preferred. Experience working on fully new projects (both new uppers and new tooling) is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop); 3D design skills (Rhino, Blender, or similar) a plus. Proficiency with PowerPoint.
  • Strong knowledge of footwear materials, construction techniques, and manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to balance innovation with business objectives.
  • Passion for Fashion, Culture, Art, Streetwear.
  • Excellent sketching, visualization, and storytelling skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and follow-up skills.
