Job description

Location: HQ - Williamsburg, Brooklyn
Status: Full-time / 100% on-site
Compensation: $65,000 - $80,000 annually
Position Summary: A Buying role reporting to Footwear, focused on organizing buy reviews, managing data, and communicating sales analysis. The Associate Buyer will be involved in all discussions and strategy on the global marketplace with a focus on the US region. The role will report to the VP of Footwear. This role is ideal for someone with strong retail and footwear industry knowledge who is interested in developing into a Buyer role over time.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary Responsibilities
  • Under the guidance of Buyer, assist in managing 25+ vendor accounts across US, CA, EU, UK.
  • Review vendor catalogues and sales materials to prepare internal buy reviews.
  • Track inbound product across regions to support shipment planning to stores and warehouses.
  • Review inbound product for purchase order reconciliation and website set up.
  • Analyze sales to support buy decisions and order book adjustments.
  • Communicate with vendors on launch strategy, seasonal collections, and release timing.
  • Organize market calendar, reporting, and buy deadlines (seasonal and short-lead).
  • Maintain buy sheets, order forms, and ERP uploads with accuracy and organization.
  • Monitor product performance and provide recommendations based on sales and inventory trends.
  • Support vendor reporting on weekly performance and key insights.

Special Projects/Tasks
  • Support product setup and coordination across warehouse, photography, web, and retail teams to ensure timely launches.
  • Partner with store managers, sales staff, and operations to gather product feedback and assess inventory needs.
  • Support marketing and newsletter inputs based on product performance.
  • Assist in cross-functional reporting and data integration across buying, operations, and e-commerce teams.

REQUIREMENTS
Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • 2-3 years of experience, including internships, in retail, buying, planning, merchandising, or store operations.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in an Assistant Buyer or similar role preferred.

Skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, inclusive of formulas, pivot tables, etc.
  • Knowledge of G-Suite: G-mail, G-drive, etc.
  • Understanding of wholesale buying process and product lifecycle.
  • Strong vendor communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage large datasets and translate into actionable insights.
  • Experience working cross-functionally across retail, operations, web, and warehouse teams.
  • Interest in footwear/fashion industry and market trends.
  • Exposure to AI tools for data organization/analysis is a plus.
  • Leadership mindset with intent to grow into a Buyer role.
