Knowledge is Power Program (KIPP) North Carolina, is a network of eight tuition-free, college-preparatory public charter schools educating approximately 3,000 students in grades K-12 in Durham, Halifax, Northampton and Mecklenburg counties. At KIPP NC, we are committed to improving the life outcomes of North Carolina's children through research-based, rigorous curricula, and clearing the paths that our students choose to follow by ensuring that they have the roadmaps and guideposts they need to arrive at success - however they define it.
Job Description
KIPP Pride High School is one of 7 KIPP schools located across the state of North Carolina serving more than 2700 students in grades K-12. We are in search of a Football Coach who has the ability and experience to lead and develop a successful Football program in all areas.
Responsibilities:
  • Instructs and demonstrates skill sets and techniques necessary for individual and team achievement.
  • Develops appropriate training programs and practice schedules.
  • Creates and executes game strategy and implements fundamentals.
  • Coordinates and implements off-season workouts and strength training sessions for the entire program.
  • Works with the Athletic Director to build a competitive and balanced non-conference schedule.
  • Collaborate with the AD and Regional Advisor to hire, evaluate, and support members of the coaching staff for all teams in the program.
  • Ensures that proper cleaning, storage, and maintenance of all athletic equipment and uniforms and updated inventories are adhered to.
  • Maintains necessary records and completes required paperwork in a specified time and manner.
  • Ensures that proper form(s) (medical) are obtained and current.
  • Supervises students in locker rooms at home and away games, ensuring appropriate behavior
  • Finalizes roster reports to the Athletic Department and NCISAA (mandated reporting).
  • Submits completed injury reports to the Head Athletic Trainer.
  • Reports ALL ejections and disqualifications to the Athletic Director.
  • Reports ALL game results to the Athletic Office, the KIPP NC Athletic Page Website, and Athletic.net.
  • Supervises student-athletes before, during, and after practices and games.
  • Reports problems and situations initially to the Athletic Director.
  • Enforces all School policies while at home or on the road.
  • Enforces the North Carolina Seat Belt Law.
  • Complies with North Carolina speed limits and all other driving laws at all times.

Qualifications
Qualifications:
  • Must have excellent communication and computer skills, and tact in dealing with students and parents.
  • Must have formal teaching experience and demonstrate the foresight to assist, lead, and direct the same.
  • Must have knowledge in all disciplines of football, as well as significant knowledge of timing and technical services.
  • Must have a proven track record of success

This is a seasonal employment opportunity that can be combined with full-time faculty/staff employment.
Additional Information
This is a part-time role and paid as a seasonal stipend. It is not eligible for benefits, but can be combined with a full time staff/faculty position.
