General Summary
With the guidance of one or more staff or faculty members, perform a mixture of services in support of communication, technology, business operations or student affairs activities as more than 50% of their service. The Staff Graduate Assistant receives a stipend and tuition waiver subject to federal tax.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
• Coordinate with the Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing to plan and execute athletics marketing campaigns for fan attendance and community engagement.
• Develop and lead all marketing, fan engagement, and game production for assigned sports.
• Act as secondary on-field marketing coordinator for all Eastern Football games.
• Coordinate the administration and management of Swoop's Jr. Eagles Kids Club.
• Collaborate with the Assistant Director of Marketing to assist the Eagle Nation student fan group in promoting home athletic events.
• Assist with digital marketing campaigns related to email, social media, and digital advertising.
• Assist with management of the Athletics Marketing Student Internship program.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
• Adhere to any and all NCAA, Mid-American Conference, and Eastern Michigan University policies, rules, regulations, and operational procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
• A Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Sports Management, Kinesiology, Communications, Business, or a related field is required.
• Strong interpersonal skills, high energy, and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community are required.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, is required.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently is required.
• Understanding and working ability with the Adobe Creative Suite is preferred.
• Previous experience with a sports organization is encouraged.
