Vikings Flag Football Sports Coordinator | Hastings YMCA | $20.00 per hour | Sundays
At a Glance:
Help create positive and engaging sports experiences for youth and adults at the YMCA. As a Sports Coordinator, you'll support the day-to-day operations of leagues, clinics, and recreation programs while working directly with participants and helping ensure a fun, welcoming, and successful experience for all. This individual will work with Vikings Flag Football and will be responsible for supporting game-day operations at Breck Schools.
Schedule:

  • Sundays, 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM


Additional Responsibilities:

  • Field setup and take-down before and after games
  • Answer parent and coach questions and provide assistance as needed
  • Collect game scores from referees for all games
  • Communicate any site issues and concerns to the Director of Flag Football in a timely manner
  • Help ensure games run smoothly and the site remains organized and welcoming for all participants, coaches, referees, and families


Pay:
The salary for this position is $20.00 hourly. We take into consideration an individual's background and experience in determining salary; therefore, base pay offered may vary considerably depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes a wide range of other benefits and earned time off that vary depending on part-time or full-time status.

1. Job Summary:
The Sports Coordinator assists in the daily direction and management of the sports program which may include organizing, delivering and administering sports leagues, recreation programs and activities targeted toward youth and adults at assigned branch. The incumbent may give work direction to sports staff.

2. Essential Functions:

  • Assists in the implementation of sports programs which may include organizing, delivering and administering sports leagues, recreation programs and activities.
  • Ensures a high level of customer service which enhances the member, program participant and guest experience and satisfaction.
  • Assists in managing the day-to-day programing to ensure revenue, program goals, and expense targets are achieved.
  • Delivers sports programs directly to members and participants a portion of the time.
  • Provides work direction to sports staff when appropriate.
  • May assist in recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training and giving work direction to staff and volunteers.

3. Relationships:
This position reports to the Sports Director/Sr. Sports Director who reports to the Executive Director. The incumbent works with branch and sports program teams, and other Association staff.

4. Qualifications:

Required

  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience working in sports programs
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage sports recreation program activities.
  • Knowledge of rules in sports recreation program activities.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Creative thinker with a history of applying innovation in programming.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to build community relationships.
  • Basic skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Ability to manage programs to a diverse population.

Preferred

  • Multilingual

5. Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to actively participate in youth games/activities.
  • Ability to travel locally to YMCA branches and other program sites.
