Position Information:
The Assistant Coach plays a vital role in the athletic program by supporting the head coach in the technical and tactical development of student athletes. This position is dedicated to cultivating fundamental skill sets and a deep understanding of the sport's rules while prioritizing a safe, inclusive, and high-performance environment. They are responsible for maintaining a safe environment for participants and fostering a sense of belonging and inclusivity in their program. This position assists with a variety of program-related tasks and logistics. Assistant Coaches are required to complete professional development and continuing education. Performs related duties as assigned.
Season: Season runs 8/19/2026 to 11/7/2026
2025-26 Salary Schedule Range: $5,837 - $7,003 per season (or $20.70 to $24.83 per hour)
Position Type: AssistantCoach (2025-2026 Coaches Compensation Schedule)
Required Qualifications:
  1. High School Diploma or graduation equivalency diploma (GED).
  2. Be at least 21 years of age.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong sport specific knowledge and understanding of the sport being coached
  • Assistant coach experience or volunteer coach experience at the high school, middle school, or community level.
    Experience working in a collaborative setting

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extensive periods of time. Frequently required to reach with hands and arms. Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, squat, or bend.
  • Physical ability to bend, stoop, twist, and work in and around tight spaces, and lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • May work outdoors in extreme heat, humidity, and direct sunlight. Exposure to dust, pollen, and noise.
  • Requires hand-eye coordination to operate athletics equipment as needed.
  • Required to wear all required personal protective equipment specific to the task given.
