Head 9-Man Football Coach (Full-time)
Position Summary

The Head Football Coach at Community Christian School serves as the spiritual, cultural, and organizational leader of the 6th -12th grade football program. The coach is responsible for shaping young men through a gospel-centered, mission-aligned athletic experience that supports the broader mission of CCS: To introduce students to Christ, to develop Christian character through academically challenging programs, and to build the next generation of dynamic leaders who will make a difference for Christ.


This role requires a leader who understands that football is a vital part of CCS discipleship work - integrated fully into the academic, spiritual, and community life of the school. The coach is expected to be a Christian role model that regularly engages the team in prayer, devotions, service projects, and life lessons. He should also be actively involved in a Christ-centered church and believe in the authority of the Bible. Coaches should strive to develop CCS student athletes and also desire to present the truth to each one and the entire athletic community (fans, coaches, opposing players, etc.).

Primary Responsibilities

1. Spiritual Leadership & Gospel Integration

  • Lead the football program as an expression of Christian discipleship and spiritual formation.
  • Communicate the gospel clearly, helping players and families see how discipline, teamwork, adversity, and growth in football point to deeper Scriptural truths.
  • Pursue Christlike character in speech, conduct, humility, competitiveness, conflict resolution, and relationships.

2. Whole-School Alignment & Outward-Facing Leadership

  • Ensure that the football program strengthens the culture and mission of CCS. 
  • Collaborate closely with administration, faculty, staff, and other coaches to ensure alignment across academics, discipline, scheduling, and leadership development.
  • Maintain transparent communication with families and school community regarding expectations, logistics, and program philosophy.

3. Organizational Excellence & Football Program Leadership

  • Oversee all day-to-day and long-term operations of an aligned 6th12th grade program, including:
    • Develop and implement effective football techniques and strategies through practices and games.
    • Staffing and assistant coach development, professionally and spiritually
    • Steward program resources well, including budget management, wise decision making in purchase of equipment, and supporting that athletic department as a whole.
    • Strength and conditioning coordination in collaboration with other CCS head coaches.
    • Ensure alignment with CCS athletic department and GAPPS bylaws including standards regarding admissions, recruiting, and eligibility.
  • Build sustainable systems that ensure stability and continuity year to year.

Qualifications

  1. A strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ
  2. Holds and maintains proper credentials supported by education and experience (Bachelor's Degree Required)
  3. Minimum of 3 years high school football coaching experience (head coaching preferred).
  4. Detailed knowledge of football rules, strategies, and leadership development.
  5. Strong communication and organizational skills.
  6. Ability to assist coaching in at least one other CCS athletic program.
  7. Ability to teach academic or elective classes during the school day.
