Job Summary:ย 

The Assistantย Footballย Coach serves as a key member of theย footballย program andย assistsย the Head Coach in all aspects ofย operatingย a successful NCAA Division II program. Responsibilities include recruiting, player development, academic monitoring, game preparation, practice planning, scouting, compliance, and administrative duties while supporting the mission and values of the institution and the athletic department.ย 

Essential Job Functions:ย 

  • Assist the Head Coach with daily operations of theย footballย program.ย 
  • Conduct individual and group skill development workouts.ย 
  • Assistย with practice planning, scouting reports, film breakdown, and game preparation.ย 
  • Support recruiting effortsย in accordance withย NCAA Division II rules and regulations.ย 
  • Monitor and encourage academic success, personal growth, and student-athlete accountability.ย 
  • Assistย with team travel coordination, equipment management, and operational needs.ย 
  • Drive university-issued vehicles for team travel, recruiting activities, camps, and other program-related responsibilities while adhering to all university transportation policies.ย 
  • Assistย with organizing camps, clinics, community outreach events, and fundraising initiatives.ย 
  • Maintain knowledge of andย comply withย NCAA, conference, and institutional policies and procedures.ย 
  • Serve as a positive representative of the university and department.ย

Minimum Job Qualificationsย 

Education and/or Experienceย ย 

Required Qualificationsย 

  • Bachelorโ€™s degreeย from an accredited college or university.ย 
  • Previousย coaching, playing, orย footballย operations experience at the collegiate, high school, or competitive level.ย 
  • Valid driverโ€™s license with the ability to be approved toย operateย university-issued vehicles.ย 
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.ย 
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and travel asย required.ย 
  • Commitment to student-athlete development, academic achievement, and program culture.ย 

Preferred Qualificationsย 

  • Collegiate coaching or playing experience.ย 
  • Experience with player development and skill instruction.ย 
  • Recruiting experience and knowledge of NCAA Division II regulations.ย 
  • Strength and conditioning experience or background in athletic performance training.ย 

Certification Requirementsย ย 

  • CPR, First Aid, and AED certification preferred orย requiredย upon hire.ย

Ability to lift, move, and transportย footballย equipment.ย Ability toย demonstrateย footballย drills and participate in on-fieldย instruction. Ability to travelย frequentlyย and work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.ย
