About the Role
The Foodservice Sales Manager - East Coast is responsible for growing PRFC's foodservice business throughout the territory from Florida to Maine. This role manages distributor relationships, key foodservice accounts, operators, chefs, and prospective customers while driving new menu placements, expanded distribution, and brand presence.
You'll work closely with PRFC's East Coast foodservice broker, as well as internal sales, marketing, operations, and demand planning teams to develop territory plans that support profitable growth and long-term brand success. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, relationship-driven environment and enjoys building business through culinary engagement and strategic account development.
Travel
This position requires regular travel throughout the territory from Florida to Maine for distributor meetings, operator calls, customer presentations, trade shows, events, and market development. Travel is expected to average approximately 30-40% and may vary based on business needs. The role also requires visits to Point Reyes, California, approximately two times per year.

What You'll Do
Territory & Account Management
  • Manage and grow a portfolio of foodservice distributors, operators, chefs, and key accounts from Florida to Maine.
  • Develop and execute territory and account plans to achieve or exceed sales targets.
  • Identify, prospect, and convert high-potential operators, restaurant groups, hospitality accounts, and culinary programs.
  • Maintain accurate forecasts, pipelines, and account activity in CRM systems and distributor portals.

Distributor & Broker Collaboration
  • Strengthen distributor relationships through meetings, ride-along, trainings, and joint customer calls.
  • Manage PRFC's East Coast foodservice broker, and collaborate on market plans, new business opportunities, and sales execution.
  • Support distributor and operator calls to drive sustainable foodservice growth.

Sales Growth & Culinary Engagement
  • Drive new menu placements, product trials, and expanded distribution.
  • Provide product education, culinary support, and sales tools to distributors, chefs, and operators.
  • Create and deliver customized sales presentations to key decision-makers.

Data, Reporting & Planning
  • Analyze sales, distribution, customer, and market data to identify opportunities and measure performance.
  • Develop and manage territory-specific sales and trade budgets in alignment with national plans.
  • Participate in weekly sales meetings, quarterly business reviews, and monthly forecasting sessions.

Events & Market Development
  • Coordinate distributor events, chef demonstrations, trainings, trade shows, and other foodservice activities.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of foodservice, specialty cheese, culinary, and competitive trends.

What We're Looking For
  • Exceptional internal and external customer service.
  • Four-year degree or equivalent relevant experience
  • 5+ years of foodservice, specialty food, dairy, cheese, or CPG sales experience
  • Proven success managing distributors and developing operator accounts
  • Strong knowledge of artisanal and specialty cheese preferred
  • Experience with broadline and specialty foodservice distributors
  • Strong presentation, relationship-building, and consultative selling skills
  • Ability to independently manage a large geographic territory
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, CRM systems, and sales reporting tools
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and organizational skills
  • Flexible schedule with occasional nights and weekends

Physical Requirements
Ability to talk and hear regularly; frequent standing, bending, walking, and reaching; ability to lift up to 25 lbs; occasional filing requiring bending or standing.
