Job description

JOB SUMMARY:

The Distribution Service Representative Lead, under the direction of the Transportation Distribution Supervisor, ensures adequate staff coverage for the pickup/delivery of specimens and supplies, develops schedule for designated areas, assists with time/attendance for employees, assists with monthly statistics for logistics department, and performs the essential functions of a Distribution Service Representative or Distribution Services Representative Floater as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop or modify work plans and schedule to provide adequate staff coverage.
  • Ensure prompt and accurate pick up/delivery of all specimen and/or supplies for customers and other transportation activities as required by the needs of the company and the customer base.
  • Direct day-to-day transportation functions to ensure accurate and timely completion of work.
  • Maintain an accurate log of specimens, reports, and supplies picked up or dropped off on an assigned route.
  • Assist with time/attendance entry of employees and maintains required records and documentation.
  • Assist with compilation of monthly statistics and data.
  • Communicate pertinent information/issues to supervisor or manager for resolution.
  • Record clients' requests for supplies and special services, and forward them to the appropriate person or department.
  • Assist in the identification and implementation of continuous improvement opportunities and customers' satisfaction opportunities for the department.
  • Communicates with co-workers and clients in a way that promotes a harmonious and cooperative working environment.
  • Demonstrate organizational commitment and flexibility in satisfying customer demands.
  • Contribute to a positive work climate and to the team effort of the department and company.
  • Answer the telephone in a friendly and helpful manner, by incorporating the company name, self-identification and a helpful statement.
  • Ensure facilities are neat, clean and in good repair.
  • Perform basic clerical duties, i.e. filing, faxing, and preparing mail.
  • Adhere to departmental and company grooming and dress codes.
  • Perform the essential functions of a Distribution Service Rep/Distribution Service Rep Floater as needed.
  • Completes special assignments as required by coordinator or local supervisor.
  • Perform all job responsibilities in alignment with the industry's best security practices and regulatory guidelines to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of protected health information and other sensitive company data.
  • Must be familiar with and abide by the Corporate Compliance Program and all Corporate policies, including the Privacy and Security policies.

EDUCATION & LICENSURE:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D
  • Valid and current driver's license
  • Good DMV report

REQUIREMENTS:

  • One year of distribution experience required;
  • Six months of leadership required.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours as needed or required.
