Food writing jobs exist in several venues with varying job requirements. As a critic with a newspaper or other publication, you may write a review of a new restaurant or a new menu item. You may cover other related stories, such as news on the local culinary scene, related industries like wineries or breweries, and food trends. Other opportunities include writing content for e-commerce sites, working as a blogger, or writing culinary books. As a food journalist, you conduct interviews with people in the food industry for a publication or news outlet. Your duties typically include researching a story and investigating any leads you have on the topic.
