Job description

The Warehouse Manager oversees daily operations as well as long-term strategy of the Warehouse department, they will ensure efficient receipt, storage, and shipment of goods while maintaining accurate inventory and smooth workflow. They will coordinate schedules, and enforce productivity standards, while also prioritize workplace safety and compliance with both food and safety regulations. Strong organizational, leadership, and critical thinking skills are essential, as the manager acts as a key link between warehouse staff, internal suppliers, and leadership. The Warehouse Manager is responsible for the talent development of the warehouse team. This position reports directly to the Regional Warehouse Manager.
Core Responsibilities:
  • Champion the Company's Vision, Mission, and Core Values in every action and decision.
  • Plan, implement, and monitor the day-to-day operations along with long-term strategy and vision for the warehouse department.
  • Ensure established objectives and expectations for inbound and outbound transactions; product rotation, sanitation, safety, timeliness, and efficiency are priorities.
  • Compliance with HACCP, SOPs, and DOT regulations.
  • Monitor and complete numerous reports both electronic and manual, along with associated documentation including but not limited to time records, daily logs, damage reports, returned products, etc.
  • Ability to lead a diverse workforce in a fast-paced production and distribution environment.
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate associates in a multi-shift team-based environment.
  • Perform assignments and directives provided by the Leadership Team.
  • Keep internal and external stakeholders informed of any delays or shipment concerns.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with all levels of management in multiple departments.
  • Demonstrate strong business acumen for the Supply Chain strategy.
  • Ability to develop and present effective and appropriate formal communications to all levels of management and team members.
  • Demonstrates a critical mindset toward appropriate questioning and analyzing alternatives to meet both customer and company strategies.
  • Initiative-taking desire to continuously improve processes within scope of responsibilities.
  • Demonstrate Strong negotiation and coordination skills to support production and scheduling needs.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates.
  • Optimizes warehouse layout and workflow for product movement efficiency.
  • Adheres to all safety guidelines Standards Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Processes (GMPs), and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP).

  • Bachelor's degree in business or Transportation/Logistics Management or (5) years relevant experience.
  • Previous experience in a food warehouse environment is preferred.
  • Understanding of Storage and shipment of food products and inventory control concepts and techniques.
  • Experience using Barcoding, ERP, and WMS programs!
  • Warehouse racking systems/processes
  • Relevant regulatory procedures and standards (OSHA, USDA, AIB, HAACP, etc.).
  • Previous experience identifying warehouse operational anomalies and identifying appropriate solutions.
  • Work efficiently and manage time effectively.
  • Passion for data - Must have a background based on solid math skills and industry-standard measures for shipping and receiving at scale.
  • Understanding of financial principles, with experience managing budgets.
  • Project Management skills with a preference for implementation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Continuous improvement and Lean manufacturing experience.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
  • Must be willing to work on a flexible schedule to support the warehouse operations team.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:
Frequently required to stand; walk; use of hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop; kneel; crouch or crawl; and to talk or hear. Ability to lift and/ or move more than 50 pounds. Specific visual abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth vision. Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock or vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to occasionally loud. Exposure to allergens such as Soy, Wheat, Tree Nuts, Milk/Dairy, eggs, etc.
