Job Duties
Position supervises the activities of inmates in the preparation and serving of meals for the population and staff. Trains inmates in all kitchen policies and procedures. Maintains a high standard of food safety, sanitation and quality in a cost-efficient manner.
Minimum Qualifications
Demonstrated ability to read and comprehend policies and procedures, and to monitor and supervise the work of others effectively. Must possess knowledge of food safety, sanitation standards, and cost-efficient practices. Ability to train and direct inmates in kitchen operations while maintaining compliance with established guidelines. Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook.
Additional Considerations
Experience in institutional or correctional food service operations, along with knowledge of inventory control, cost management, and menu planning. Certifications in food safety or sanitation, such as ServSafe, are highly desirable. Strong organizational skills,
