Position Summary
The Cafeteria Associate is responsible for all cafeteria service to personnel during lunch. Maintains sanitation and proper food standards in the cafeteria at all times.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Sets up cafeteria steam table, cold food service, dishes and silverware prior to serving time; maintains adequate supplies throughout the serving period.
  • Prepares items needed for salad bar and deli bar, including tuna salad and chicken salad.
  • Serves food prepared by the cook in correct portions using proper utensils; serves staff in a friendly, polite manner taking into consideration their desires and needs.
  • Promotes sales through specials and creative ideas.
  • Maintains cleanliness and sanitation in the cafeteria area (counters, tables, chairs, microwaves, etc.).
  • Maintains department quality assurance standards including correct storage and serving of food items at proper temperatures.
  • Assists in preparation of cold food items for cafeteria.
  • Listens to customersโ€™ ideas and suggestions, and reports them to Management for evaluation.
  • Participates in in-service education, department meetings, and safety programs.
  • Performs other duties as required by management or by Administration from time to time.
Expectations of the Position:
  • Dependable, report to work on-time for every schedule shift (ready to work at beginning - start of shift) and work full schedule shifts unless physically unable or pre-approved Paid Time Off (PTO) which includes personal and vacation.
  • Willing and able to work overtime and weekends as required by the position and/or approved by management.
  • Have reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Must be clean and neat in appearance and have a โ€œfriendlyโ€ service-oriented personality.
  • Abide by work-related / job procedures and organization policies; (refer to the Employee Handbook).
Qualifications of the Position:
