Food Runner
Job Title: Food Runner
Reports To: General Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Summary: The food runner primary responsibility is to accurately deliver the food to the guests.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • The food runner is main duty is to deliver food to the restaurant guests.
  • The food runner must be timely and efficient to maintain the food's temperature.
  • Knowledge of each dish and what it should look like.
  • Provides final quality assurance check of products before delivering to guests. Removes any product that does not meet standards.
  • Performs all side duties as assigned.

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:
  • Skills - Food Runner must be able to quickly and accurately deliver food to guests.
  • Guest Service - Responds promptly to guest needs.
  • Interpersonal - Provides a friendly and hospitable service to guests
  • Oral Communication - Speaks clearly and listens to guests; responds well to questions; communicated all inquires to server.
  • Attendance/Punctuality - Is consistently at work and on time; ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent.
  • Dependability - Follows instructions, responds to management direction; takes responsibility for own actions; keeps commitments;
  • Safety and Security - Observes safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly.
