Job description

Position Summary: 

The Commercialization Manager is responsible for leading the execution of commercialization projects from customer approval through successful launch and lifecycle management. This role serves as the owner of Tulkoff's commercialization process, ensuring projects progress efficiently through development, validation, launch, product changes, and discontinuation.

The Commercialization Manager works cross-functionally with Sales, Technical Sales, R&D, Operations, Procurement, Quality, Regulatory, Finance, and Customer Service to drive accountability, manage timelines, mitigate risks, and deliver successful project outcomes.

This role is critical in supporting Tulkoff's growth by improving speed-to-market, visibility, accountability, and execution across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Commercialization Process Ownership

  • Own and continuously improve Tulkoff's Path-to-Production process.
  • Manage commercialization projects from customer approval through product launch.
  • Ensure consistent adherence to stage-gate requirements and project governance.
  • Maintain project documentation, workflows, and commercialization standards.

Project Management

  • Lead commercialization activities for new products, customer-specific projects, reformulations, packaging changes, and strategic initiatives.
  • Develop and manage project timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure projects remain on schedule.
  • Identify risks, barriers, and resource constraints and facilitate resolution.
  • Escalate critical issues to leadership when necessary.

Cross-Functional Accountability

  • Facilitate commercialization meetings and project reviews.
  • Ensure departmental deliverables are clearly assigned, tracked, and completed.
  • Promote accountability and transparency throughout the commercialization process.
  • Drive timely decision-making to support project progression.

Product Lifecycle Management

  • Own the Digital Plant Management (DPM) document and process including product change management after launch.
  • Manage product discontinuation projects and associated cross-functional activities.
  • Ensure changes are implemented effectively and communicated appropriately.

Reporting & Portfolio Management

  • Maintain a centralized portfolio of all active commercialization projects.
  • Develop and communicate project status reports and dashboards.
  • Provide leadership visibility into project timelines, launch readiness, risks, and revenue opportunities.
  • Track key commercialization metrics including:
    • Active projects
    • Launch success rates
    • On-time launch performance
    • Commercialization cycle time
    • Resource utilization

Systems & Continuous Improvement

  • Support implementation and optimization of commercialization management tools and systems.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, visibility, and speed-to-market.
  • Lead initiatives to standardize project management and commercialization practices.

Qualifications & Experience:

To be eligible for this position, candidates should meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, Project Management, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in project management, commercialization, product development, operations, or related functions.
  • Experience in food manufacturing, ingredients, consumer packaged goods, or related industries strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional projects from concept through launch.
  • Experience with project management systems and commercialization workflows.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking
  • Proven experience driving accountability and execution throughout an organization
