Job description

Rose-HulmanInstitute of Technology is seeking a dedicated Residential Custodial Steward tojoin its Student Affairs team. Recognized as the No. 1 undergraduateengineering college in the United States by the U.S. News & World ReportBest Colleges Guide for 27 consecutive years, Rose-Hulman offers anengaging and supportive campus environment where employees play a vital role instudent success. This full-time position works Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m.to 3:00 p.m., and is responsible for maintaining clean, safe, and welcomingresidential and institutional spaces across campus.

As aResidential Custodial Steward, you will be responsible for the daily upkeep ofassigned areas, ensuring they are clean, sanitized, and orderly. Duties includeperforming routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming,dusting, trash removal, and sanitizing surfaces in restrooms, lounges, livingspaces, hallways, and other campus facilities. You will also manage inventoryby receiving and restocking cleaning supplies, including chemical and paperdispensers for public and residential use. In addition to facility care, thisrole emphasizes meaningful interaction with students-coordinating room cleaningschedules, fostering a positive and inclusive residential environment, andmaintaining open communication with Residence Life staff to support studentneeds and concerns. Delivering excellent customer service and contributing to asafe, healthy campus community are essential aspects of this role. Thisposition offers an opportunity to contribute directly to the student experiencein a collaborative and mission-driven environment.

Qualifiedcandidates must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent, along with one totwo years of relevant work experience. A strong attention to detail ispreferred. The selected candidate must successfully complete pre-employmentrequirements, including a background check and physical ability assessment.

Pay Range is13.50/hour - 14.50/hour. Pay is competitive.
