Position Overview:

The Food Runner plays a crucial role in the restaurant by ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of food from the kitchen to the customers' tables. They work closely with the kitchen staff and servers to coordinate food orders and maintain high standards of service.

Essential Job Functions:

Food Delivery:

  • Retrieve food orders from the kitchen and deliver them to the appropriate tables in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that each dish is accurately presented and matches the customer's order.
  • Coordinate with servers to ensure that all items for a table are delivered together.

Table Maintenance:

  • Assist in setting up and clearing tables before and after meal service.
  • Ensure that tables are properly set with condiments, utensils, and other necessary items.
  • Clear empty plates, glasses, and other used items from tables promptly to maintain a clean and organized dining environment.

Communication:

  • Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, servers, and other restaurant team members to ensure smooth coordination of food orders.
  • Relay any special requests or modifications to food orders to the kitchen staff accurately.
  • Inform servers or managers of any issues or concerns related to food quality, presentation, or customer satisfaction.

Customer Service:

  • Provide friendly and attentive service to customers, greeting them warmly and answering any questions about the menu or specials.
