Job description

Job Summary:

Responsible for designing industrial systems and production equipment in support of capital and continuous improvement projects from concept through implementation for our spice processing and packaging operations. The engineer will work closely with operations, maintenance, vendors, and leadership to develop practical engineering solutions that improve production efficiency, reliability, safety, and product quality.

Essential Duties:

  • Design equipment modifications, custom machinery, and plant improvements
  • Develop equipment specifications and technical requirements
  • Manage and coordinate with equipment vendors, fabricators, and contractors
  • Review vendor drawings and technical proposals
  • Participate in equipment commissioning and startup
  • Develop and maintain CADD models, assemblies, and fabrication drawings
  • Support design of systems including, but not limited to:
    • Milling and mixing equipment
    • Sterilization equipment
    • Conveyance systems
    • Packaging equipment (form-fill-seal, carton erectors, case packing)
    • Material handling systems
    • Process piping and utility systems
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for equipment failures
  • Maintain engineering drawings, documentation, and revision control
  • Develop equipment standards and best practices for plant engineering
  • Support regulatory and food safety requirements in design (OSHA, FDA, EPA)
  • Enforce and comply with all of Elite Spiceโ€™s policies, procedures, general safety laws and regulations, food safety guidelines, and Good Manufacturing Practices

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Industrial preferred)
  • Ability to read, interpret, and create engineering drawings
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, materials, and fabrication methods
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with operations, maintenance, and vendors
  • Familiarity with sanitary equipment design and process hazard analysis principles
  • Experience in food processing, packaging, or industrial manufacturing preferred
  • Experience in capital and plant operations/maintenance project management preferred
  • Experience supporting equipment installation and commissioning preferred
